Ophillia HRMS creates a VOLUNTEER role that gives community workers access to a trimmed 6-route version of the Ophillia Work PWA. Volunteers can clock in, complete tasks and submit expense claims — without seeing payroll or HR management features.

Volunteer clock-in hours flow through the clock-in bridge into the same attendance database as staff records. The source=volunteer tag keeps data separated for HR reports while enabling unified headcount views for funders.

The session merge endpoint (_merge_sessions) reconciles overlapping windows — ensuring a volunteer who is also a part-time employee doesn't get double-counted in attendance metrics.
